MAYDAY DEMOSTRATION 2007

MAYDAY SLOGANS

NO more illusions, let’s struggle and organize ourselves

We want no unemployment,we want no work.

We want a life without bosses

Flexible worktime and black labor. That is terrorism

The unemployment income is too much, let’s do some cutbacks

Better to live for an hour without bosses, than 40 years in slavery

8 hours consuming, 8 hours labor, that is how authority is implied

They want our bodies to become rubber, and they burn our brains.

This system wants us to be enslaved

We are the precarious generation, those who live on black labor and antidepressives

Precarity is only an excuse, fight against a system that steals our lives

15 years of warm welcome, bullets, deportation and black labor

MAYDAY MAYDAY

This has to be our own mayday...

Who we are

We are the first generation that is, as said, “going to live a worse life than its predecessor”.

We are the experimental material of new flexible labor conditions.

We are those that get more and more anxious and uncertain about tomorrow

We are those that kill their precious free time doing anything else but getting together and forming communities. We are in such a hurry, running at the speed of the free market economy, of corporate profit-making. We are running in favor of all those that steal our lives, our time, our energy.

They are the ones that promote short period contracts, that constantly steal our labor by law violations, precarious work, unpaid overtime, terrorism etc. These things already happen and we know it, soon it is going to be official and legal, and will be called “new labor conditions”.

On the other side, we are the ones that leave our lives on the hands of others, politicians, parties, trade union leaders etc. We are responsible for our future.Instead of fighting for the best, we chose the individualist way, and just mind for our private business.

We are not exaggerating. We know that life is full of demands, many of which appear as necessary. Sometimes we feel worthless, that nothing is easy. We feel someone is stealing what we have to offer. Our life is a vicious circle: from home to work and back again.

We know that life and relationships need time and space. But we have none. We are on a constant rush, trying to create a future for ourselves. But where will that future take us? To a good work? To a good certificate? What are we running for after all? In order not to stay behind?

Sometimes we feel we are standing still, and everything around is passing us by.We collect papers to fill our CV. We are desperate for a job, anything…and we are willing to do anything to get it. Where does happiness lie in all this? In the millions of anti-depression pills taken monthly?

We are stuck with all this trouble, and we can’t see that we are the locomotive of this world. We cannot perceive that the power of the system stems from our labor, our thoughts and desires. We cannot see that if we unite, things would be better for all.

Indeed, we are the generation of uncertainty, of precarious work, of life-long training, of a constant run. We are unemployed, students at work, with no illusion about our degrees, dependent from our families, stressed. And there’s a hell lot of us!

We feel it is time to meet and see who we really are. What brings us together. What troubles us, and how we can resist what is coming and already is. Let’s talk about our lives.

This has to be our own mayday. Not of the sold out trade unionists and politicians. We do not need anybody talking on our behalf, without us. We have to work on a grassroots level, so that everyone has the ability to speak and be heard.

Let’s stand next to each other and see how we can fight

Let’s do a first step, let’s go on strike and let’s make our own mayday.
